The tour
The ideal starting point for this relaxing hike is close to Pension Arnika. A wide, cleared footpath affords splendid views of the Schladminger Tauern massif. The friendly huts and glorious winter scenery are certain to add to the beauty of your day. The winter hike leads back along the same route.

Turn-by-turn directions
From the hiking trail head Vorberg-Arnika you follow the trail through the forest to the North side of Halserberg. At the trail junction in the forest you make a left and continue on the winter walking trail towards the mountain chaltes. The trail now runs along the edge of the forest. Next, you reach the trail junction below Rösteralm chalet, and just a few steps further you reach Halseralm chalet. A slight ascent followed by a short section through the forest takes you to Sonnenalm chalet and finally to Wiesmahdalm chalet from where you take the same way back to your starting point.
Getting there
Exit from federal highway B320 approximately 4 km west of Schladming in Pichl and continue towards Vorberg. In Vorberg pass by Hotel Steirerhof and continue to Pension Arnika, where you find the hiking trail head Vorberg-Arnika.
The trail head Vorberg-Arnika can be reached with the ski bus of Ramsauer Verkehrsbetriebe (RVB) - the sop is "Pension Arnika".

Equipment
In winter time it is therefore important to also be careful on supposedly easy walks. Sections that are in the shadows can easily get icy, and slopes on the side of the trail may have avalanche hazard. Mountain sport is always carried out under personal responsibility - in winter even more than in summer. Tourist offices or avalanche warning services do not take any responsibility in respect to information provided. Good winter shoes, warm clothing, tuque, and gloves. You might also want to carry a small backbag with a warm drink in a thermos jug.
