Ramsau am Dachstein

The Dachstein suspension bridge in combination with the “Stairway to Nothingness” promises you an adrenaline kick packed with beautiful views that will release deeper in- and outsights.

Austria’s highest situated suspension bridge combined with the incredible Dachstein Ice Palace is an attraction you shouldn’t miss. If you dare to step onto the suspension bridge you will see 400 meters depth below your feet. An extraordinary view of the mountain tops before you and the rocks of the Dachstein Glacier below you assure breathtaking moments.

Dogs are not allowed on the suspension bridge!

Technical information about the bridge

The step onto the one metre broad and 100 metre long bridge can turn out to be quite a challenge for some of our visitors. But don’t worry, with the 1.3 metre high railings and the steel ropes safety is guaranteed, even in that height.

The suspension bridge can endure storms up to 250 km/h, bear up to 750 kilograms of thick heavy, snow per square metre and shows a descent of 12 percent.

When building this construction we had to conquer the difficulties of transporting 30.000 spare parts high into the air. All in all, 63 tons of steel were used for this creation.
