Circular Hike to the Water Place at Enns river
eenvoudig Dagwandeling · Grimming-Donnersbachtal
This circular route takes you past two different water landscapes. Firstly, you walk along the small Leistenbach stream to the Enns, where the ‘Wasserplatz an der Enns’ Natur.Kraft.Platz is located at the mouth. Here you will find a board with exercise instructions that you can take home with you. The second part of the hike runs mostly along the banks of the Enns and lets you immerse yourself in the flow of Austria's longest inland river.
You follow the path along the Leistenbach stream to the water square on the Enns. The Natur.Kraft.Platz there gives you an exercise along the way and you hike up the Enns until you take the subway to Stainach on the right. At the Bioenergie Stainach railway station, turn right back to the starting point.
The best way to get here is by train to Stainach-Irdning railway station. If you are travelling by car, leave the B320 Ennstal Bundesstraße. Follow the main road (Salzburger Straße from the west, Grazer Straße from the east) to the Leistenbachgasse junction (south of the main road). Follow Leistenbachgasse and then Peter-Rosegger-Straße to the Stainach sports centre.
Take the train to Stainach-Irdning station - express trains also stop here. Leave the station in a southerly direction and turn left (eastwards) onto Ennsbodenstraße. At Bioenergie Stainach, at the Sallabergerweg junction, turn directly into the circular route and walk straight ahead to the sports centre.
If you want to do a longer hike, you can also combine this tour with a hike along the Fürstensteig to Wörschach and from there along the Enns back to Stainach. This way you can visit two more of the Natur.Kraft.Plätze (nature.power.places)
