Workshop – Mobile Pelvis & Pelvic Floor

[ku:L] Öblarn

This workshop combines the dynamic, fluid, and yet powerful movement of Egyptian dance with the Franklin Method, which focuses on imagination and body awareness. Over the two days, the pelvis, pelvic floor, and conscious awareness of the organs will be the focal points, integrating music, dance, and specific exercises using Franklin Balls.

Workshop Schedule: Saturday, 15th February
• 10:00 - 12:30: Mobile Pelvis
• 14:00 - 16:30: Pelvic Floor

Sunday, 16th February
• 10:00 - 12:30: Organ Awareness

Workshop Description:

Mobile Pelvis & Pelvic Floor – A journey through the pelvic joints and pelvic floor muscles. The pelvic floor needs dynamic training just like any other muscle in the body. A well-trained pelvic floor is elastic, strong, and forms the basis for good body awareness.

In this workshop, we will joyfully explore the pelvic floor as the source of our primal strength. Through dynamic exercises, we will build elasticity and strength, and discover that joint mobility is a prerequisite for an active pelvic floor.

• Basic knowledge of the pelvis, its joints, and the attachment points of the pelvic floor muscles
• Body centering through the interaction of the pelvic bones
• Dynamic pelvic floor training for elasticity and strength
• Pelvic floor exercises with balls and imagination
• Joyfully dancing to discover the many movements of the pelvis and pelvic floor

Organ Awareness – Conscious awareness of the organs. Our muscle-focused training often overlooks the organs as part of our movement and posture. However, our organs are not only crucial for metabolism but also play a significant role in our posture, mobility, and energy. Proper breathing massages and moves the organs, improving their tone and circulation.

• Discovering the location and function of the organs in the body
• The relationship between breathing and organ movement
• How imagination, touch, and exercises with Franklin Balls enhance mobility and promote relaxation
• "Organic Dancing from the Inside Out"

What to Bring: • Openness and joy for movement
• Comfortable clothing
• Exercise materials will be provided, so you can focus entirely on experiencing the movements
• No prior dance knowledge required – just the desire to move
