Pictures that tell stories

Cultur Centrum Wolkenstein

Vernissage

Exhibition from November 22, 2024 to March 31, 2025

Valery Khomenko (UKR) and Gerhard Auer (AUT)

Valery Khomenko was born in Chernihiv (UKR) in 1959 and lives and works in Purbach, Burgenland. He is self-taught and has been painting since 2004. Khomenko often uses metaphors in his allegorical and fairytale-like paintings to convey stories and messages. He paints in acrylic or oil on canvas. Gerhard Auer, born in 1978, lives and works in Rottenmann. He is a self-taught, up-and-coming artist from our region. His expressive, imaginative works in gouache tempera on canvas are colorful. “For me, painting is more than just decorating walls. When I work with brushes and paint, I feel the freedom of life. I would like to pass this power on to the viewers of my paintings.”

Open on CCW event days from 5 p.m. and by appointment: 0660/6502637 (Erich Lechner).
