Matters of the Heart in Unplugged Style

The story of Melanie Mau and Martin Schnella began with the song "Miracles Out of Nowhere" by the band Kansas. Through their own arrangement of this piece, the two passionate musicians discovered their love for making music together. Since then, the duo from Osterode in Lower Saxony has been performing music in an acoustic setting. Their concert tours have taken them across Europe and the USA, where they performed at the renowned Progstock Festival.

The repertoire of Melanie Mau and Martin Schnella includes cover songs that they rearrange in their own style, but they also have numerous original compositions. The most important thing, however, is that their music always comes from the heart and is truly a "Matters of the Heart"!

Live, they perform in different setups – as a duo, trio, quartet, or quintet. The regular band members are:

• Simon Schröder (Percussion, Vocals)
• Lars Lehmann (Bass)
• Mathias Ruck (Vocals)

In December 2015, their first cover album, "Gray Matters", was released. This was followed by "The Oblivion Tales", their first album featuring entirely original compositions. Two more cover albums, "Pieces To Remember" (2018) and "Through The Decades" (2020), received worldwide acclaim. During the pandemic, they produced a live DVD/CD, "Crowdless Sessions", performed with the full band lineup but, due to the pandemic, without an audience.

In May 2022, Melanie Mau and Martin Schnella, with the help of their band and numerous guest musicians, released "Invoke The Ghosts", an album that uncompromisingly reflects their "Acoustic Prog" style like never before.
