Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner - The inner dimension of mountaineering

Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner was the first woman in the world to reach all summits of the 14 8000m peaks without the aid of additional oxygen and without the support of high altitude porters.
In this lecture, she will share her approach to the inner dimension of mountaineering with you using various excerpts from her expeditions.
She will talk about her physical and mental preparation, about her enduring enthusiasm, but also about dealing with setbacks and overcoming extremely difficult situations. Important elements for Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner are meditation, an inner gut feeling, nutrition and a deep connection to the mountain and nature.
In part two of the lecture, Gerlinde takes you on an ascent of K2, the most difficult of all 8000 meter peaks. On the Chinese side of the mountain, she succeeded in 2011 in an international team on the seventh attempt to reach the summit via the very demanding and little-used North Pillar.
