Finally, the wonderful Irish SHIRLEY GRIMES with her completely unique and enchanting style will be heard on this tour! Shirley emigrated to Switzerland almost three decades ago and writes songs reminiscent of big names like Emmylou Harris and Alanis Morisette, but always remaining Shirley Grimes compositions with an Irish feeling and documented on 8 albums so far.

With her excellent Swiss band she will surely win many fans in Austria right away.

Lineup:

2nd set:
With 3 On The Bund another new Irish band comes to IRISH CHRISTMAS, whose protagonists met at the Music University in Limerick and decided during a concert tour in China to continue working together as a band, after their spontaneously rehearsed program was so well received. All that was missing was the band name.

They especially liked the Bund Promenade in Shanghai. They met at number 3 for a walk. That's how "3 on the Bund" came about.

The protagonists hail from Counties Clare, Waterford and Kerry, as well as Bavaria, and have several award winners in the band:

Multi-instrumentalist Rebecca McCarthy Kent is a multiple award winner on fiddle and piano (Fleadh Ceoil All-Ireland) and Aisling Lyons is an 8-time All-Ireland champion on harp and concertina.
Guitarist and banjo player Seán Kelliher took gold at the 2013 All Ireland Fleadh in Derry. .
Singer Roísín Ryan was first crowned All-Ireland Champion in Séan-Nos Singing (the traditional Irish singing) in 2010.

The quintet brings new impulses to the Irish folk scene with their mix of tradition, original songs & tunes, but also influences from world music.
