Festival of the imagination

The 38th Austrian International Storytelling Festival celebrates the diversity of modern storytelling with international artists and fascinating performances such as storytelling, poetry slam, puppet and shadow theater, dance and music.

Under the motto #herostories, the focus this year is on inspiring heroine stories that show that anyone can be a hero. The festival initiated by Folke Tegetthoff invites young and old to stories from all over the world from June 12 to 14 in Stainach-Pürgg:

• On 12.06.2025: A morning full of fantasy for schoolchildren with the “Matinee of Stories”
• On 13.06.2025: “Of princesses, herbs & destinies” - Folke Tegetthoff's exclusive best-of program for adults
• On 14.06.2025: The big “Festival of Fantasy” - a fairytale family day with 3 hours of colorful program in and in front of Trautenfels Castle

FESTIVAL OF THE IMAGINATION

Stainach-Pürgg celebrates the imagination! Because what could be more important for children - but also for adults - than immersing themselves in other worlds. An afternoon full of enjoyment in the boundless world of fantasy. In addition to the best stories and most beautiful fairy tales, visitors can expect music, acrobatics, walk acts and much more. Free admission for the whole family in and in front of the enchanting Trautenfels Castle.

Various creative stations and a colorful program invite you to linger, marvel and dream! In cooperation with Graz University of the Arts, drama students will create parts of the program and Folke Tegetthoff will present his musical fairy tale “Was ich alles kann, sagt die Kuh”. Including costume competition under the motto “Dress up as your favorite hero”
