Between heaven and earth

Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner and the world of 8000m peaks

Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner is the first woman to conquer all fourteen 8,000-meter peaks without additional oxygen. She is the patron of this alpine museum and has made films, photos and equipment available for the exhibition.
The museum will whisk you away to the world of 8,000ers. Experience for yourself how the weather feels atop the world's highest mountains, as well as the physical dangers of such an undertaking.
Complete expedition equipment shows how much planning goes into an adventure like this, while Gerlinde's packed summiteering rucksack is just waiting for visitors to try to pick up and carry through the museum.
Audio stations also provide insights into the thinking of one of the world's best female climbers. Listen as Gerlinde talks about fear, responsibility and moments of pure joy.
