The tour
The one place! Up here you have one of the most beautiful views of the Grimming. But before you can enjoy this view, you need to use your poles properly. Over forest paths and sunny areas with wonderful views, you climb up to the summit, where the snack and the view are equally delicious. Here you will feel at home as a pleasure hiker, but also as a beginner with good physical condition.
Turn-by-turn directions
Such a snowshoe tour with wonderful views is not easy to find at this altitude. You start from the parking lot on a road at the beginning. After the farm Möslhof the forest path begins, which leads you over the Schwoagalehen up to the forest. After crossing the forest the tour continues on a forest road. A short distance before the summit this road ends and you stomp over a wooded ridge up to the summit of the Hohe Trett, which can't be mistaken for a large cross on the summit.
Getting there
Leave the Ennstalbundesstraße (B320) in Wörschach or Trautenfels and continue to Aigen im Ennstal. In the district "Ketten" turn off towards Ritzmannsdorf or Vorberg. Follow the road uphill and then turn left at Vorberg to Möslhof.

Equipment
Before every ski tour or snowshoe hike, it is essential to read the current avalanche report - available at www.lawine-steiermark.at. Mountain sports and the assessment of the situation on the spot is - in winter all the more so - above all subject to personal responsibility. Tourism associations or avalanche warning services do not accept any liability whatsoever on the basis of information provided.
  • Always important: snowshoes, winter mountain boots or sturdy mountain boots as well as telescopic poles with snow plates
  • In addition to food and warm drinks, pack spare clothing and a first aid kit in your backpack
  • Choose your clothing according to the onion layer system
  • An avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel are, as in ski touring, required in alpine terrain
  • Use a backpack to which you can attach your snowshoes
  • You should also pack maps and/or tour descriptions. GPX tracks on your cell phone or GPS device will also help you
  • Rental of snowshoes, poles and safety equipment at Sport Scherz and Sport Schöttl
