The tour
NOT WITHOUT. With the Gulling at your side, you walk relaxed until just before the quarry, before the Vorberg with its fine viewing spots beckons. So let's go up, marvel and return to the village via Hochhuberhof and Ritzmannsdorf.
Turn-by-turn directions
The tour starts at the large gravel parking lot. After 200m turn left and walk past the Puttererseehof in the direction of Gulling. From here, the marked trail leads you first along an asphalt road and after the houses along the gravel road to a bridge, which you cross to the left. At the old wooden hut you turn left again and follow the steep forest path, continue across the meadow to the gravel road. Most of the altitude difference has now been overcome. In 4 hairpin bends you go moderately uphill again until you reach the little used asphalt road that leads from Aigen to Oppenberg. Following the road, you will pass many resting places and Grimmingblicken, in the district of Ritzmannsdorf. Here you follow the signs to Aigen and back to the starting point.

Equipment
  • Plan your trip in advance, taking into account walking time, distance, elevation gain, hazards, and weather reports.
  • Let others know where you are going and when you want to be back.
  • Turn back in good time if the weather deteriorates. If you are caught in a thunderstorm, stay away from free-standing trees and wait out the storm, crouching if possible.
  • Stay on marked trails and remember to close pasture fences.
  • If you are a dog owner: Clarify before the hike if you need to cross a pasture. Keep your dog on a leash and make sure it stays calm. If a cow attacks, let the dog off the leash immediately. Never pick him up to defend him.
In your weatherproof backpack belong: Sun and rain protection, warm, windproof clothing, drinks and provisions, small first aid kit, hiking map and a fully charged cell phone. Suitable footwear goes without saying.
